I'm Jared Little, founder of Alien Brain Trust Labs. For the last 25-plus years I've worked in enterprise cybersecurity — identity and access management, privileged access management — inside heavily regulated financial institutions, leading technology transformation from the inside.

I've watched this exact pattern play out before. New technology shows up. The hype builds. Everyone starts talking about "transformation." Almost nobody talks about the messy middle — the actual implementation. Where access controls matter. Where privilege escalation is a real risk. Where you can't just move fast and break things, because breaking things means security incidents and compliance failures, not just a bad demo.

That's exactly where AI is right now. Everyone's building agents. Almost nobody building them has any security instinct for what they're actually exposing — API keys, IAM permissions, data access — because nobody's taught them to think that way. You don't develop that instinct from a certification or a whitepaper.
